Implementation and Impact of Lean Redesigns in Primary Care

Click the image above to view a slide show recently presented by Dorothy Hung at a UC Berkeley colloquium. This research examined the phased implementation of Lean in Primary Care across 17 primary care clinics in the Palo Alto Medical Foundation system. Dr. Hung described qualitative findings related to acceptance and adoption of lean throughout the implementation process (manuscript currently in press here), and quantitative analyses examining potential impacts of the lean redesign on outcomes related to efficiency, costs, quality, and satisfaction.
